more yakiniku and golf and jdm cake shop !

My mom came to visit me along with my brother
who lives in SF. And since my bother wanted to eat
yakiniku because there's no good jdm yakiniku place
in SF, we decided to go to Manpuku in Costa Mesa.
(Although this was 2days in a row yakiniku dinner for me...)
But it was goooooood regardless (^0^)/

Then the next day, we played golf at the Costa Mesa GC.
I haven't played for a long time, but that's sometimes
when you play surprizingly good. And that's what exactly
happened....... I shot 70. My record by far !!!
Maybe I can beat Tanner now! (He's a good golfer too!)
And right before their flight back to SF, we stopped
by a small cute JDM cake shop called Bonjour in Torrance.
This cake I had is called Mont-Blanc and it's made of
a sponge cake, cream, and the chestnut cream.
This is my favorite at Bonjour !

Red Bull WC and the dinner at Tamaen JDM bbq

Last weekend was the Red Bull World Championship
at the Port of Long Beach.
What an incredible event!!! Formula D and RedBull
really went all out to make an awesome world's biggest
drift event ever !!
Although I was not a driver, I was pretty busy doing a
spotter for Yoshie at the Pro-Am event, and also
cheering for my fellow U.S. drifters !

The weather was actually very sunny, but from the
mountain fires all over the places, the sky was filled
with smoke and all the cars were covered with ashes!
After the event was over, some of us gathered for
a yakiniku dinner at Tamaen in Torrance.
Starting from the right there were Taka, me, Kuroi, Izumida,
Izumida's GF, Isumida's friend, Boso Frank, Boso Ross,
Mama Gushi, Miki, Takatori, and Kie.

And of course, anytime we meet Mr. Kuroi,
this happens.

SEMA 2008 and Koki

As you might know, we went to SEMA last week.
And as you might've imagined, there were lots of parties.
And as the days passed, we had less and less sleep.....
our energy delined lower and lower......
So, I was pretty much dead for a few days after SEMA and
that's why I'm updating the blog now. Sorry !!!

We did walk through all of SEMA floors, but I didn't take
too many pics this year.
Here is the OS Giken clutches and L.S.D.'s It's the must
performance products that myself and Taka use on our
drift cars !!!

All the hotels at Las Vegas is so cool and so big !!!
You really forget where you are at !

SEMA party is always hardcore and all night long!!!
I met lots of people, but lost my voice because
I had to shout to talk to people and I just simply
drunk too much..... way too much !
I had a loooooong serious face-to-face conversation
with a toilet bowl at the MGM !!!

The day after SEMA on Saturday, we had a Drift Day
at Camarillo, CA and our team manager brought
his whole family !
Baby Koki was growing fast, but he was so cute !!!

Yes, it's the end of Tuesday, and I am still not feeling
100%, but getting a lot better.
I need to tone myself down at the 'open' bar parties......

F1 2008 is over . . . . .

The crazy 2008 season of Formula 1 is finally over!

And it finished with a dramatic ending.

Unbelievable!!!

I really didn't have a favorite on who I'd want to win
the championship because they're are both awesome

drivers and cool guys, but I was pushing for Massa

a little bit . . . . maybe just because he was the one chasing.

It seems like the rain was the big key in this race.
It poured right before the start to delay the scheduled start.
And it started to rain with only a few laps remaining.
I wonder if Glock decided to go onto the intermediate and
pitted, would he have been able to come back on course in

front of Hamilton ?

Anyways, now the 2008 Formula D, D1GP, Formula 1 is all over !!!

Time to head to SEMA and check out what's in store for the
upcoming 2009 season for us (^0^)/

trick or treat ?!

As you know, today was the Halloween !!!
Since I am always the only one making loud noise
in my neighborhood pounding and grinding to work
on my car, I've decided to stay home to wait for the
kids to come around for trick or treating.
I even went to Mitsuwa market to buy some cool
JDM snacks !!!
Also went to Walmart to buy this pumpkin lantern
to welcome the costumed guests.

I thought I bought a lot of candies, but it went super
fast and all it was left was this in just over an hour...
I was hoping that lots would left over so I can eat it
later..... ah well.
Hope all the kids are happy and think I'm a cool
neighboor with special JDM candies (^0^)/
Some kids were very cute and polite, but some were
bad trying to grab a bunch of candies at once.
It was pretty busy but I had fun too !!
