Belated Event Somehow Related Report @ NJ

So...this trip itself was really BAD LUCKs for us.

We took early morning flight from LAX, and we parked the car @ one of the hotel parking. We took shuttle to the airport, and the shuttle driver made us walk for 1 terminal away.

Then, we went to United Airline...just to check-in our baggage. There was 1 counter rep. didn't do anything for a while, and I was waiting to get my baggage away for 5 mins...and she finally came and said, "O, I didn't see you were done already." Ya, right.

Our flight on the way to NJ was 1-stop, which was LAX-Chicago & Chicago-Newark. We didn't have any problem to Chicago...but Chicago-Newark flight got canceled!! Anyway, only flight United could replace us was next early flight or go to other airport. We decided to fly to other airport, and our rental car price went up cuz of the different pick up location.

ONLY lucky person was Cyrus. He missed the flight ( how??), but luckily he arrived @ Newark when we got there to pick up Robert and our baggage.

-----

On the way back, it was JFK to LAX @ night flight, so we did small sightseeing.
OMG, There were toll charges all over the places @ NJ & NY area.

Gas price over there was pretty cheap...and it was full service.
(Self fill-up not available)

Cyrus slept all over...as always.

Taka told me to take the pic of the sign, and it came out somehow OK! (for me)
We took this tunnel.

No comment of the translation. This is funny!!
It is saying, "Extreme Dry (Do)" kinda thingy.

Famous building...I forgot the name. Sorry, old moment.

OMG, Yoshie GOOD JOB!! Statue of Liberty somehow in the middle taking from the moving car!! (Too small? O well, too bad!)

Some buildings...GEEEE! Cars!! Get out from my view!!

So...we arrived JFK, and we were informed our United Airline flight delayed for 2 hours!! Speechless...

Belated Event Report @ Wall, NJ

So...Taka didn't even make to Top 32...

Again, he had the tranny issue for this event. On Thur. after practice, Taka and his crew Robert were disassembling the tranny since he had a difficulty to shift and ended up he couldn't shift to neutral...5th gear synchro (sp?) was broken (split one area). It is kinda rear to see that kinda thingy. This time, he didn't have a spare tranny available, so he was already screwed to begin with, so he made mickey-mouse job to get over the situation.

On Friday practice, seemed like the tranny was somehow working...so we were hoping nothing would happen. BUT, his first qualify run, he couldn't shift...so he got 0 score. 2nd run, it seemed to look good...but again, he couldn't shift in the middle of the bumpy section... so his day was over.

Not really enjoyable, but enjoy Taka's 2nd run.

I am really praying for not having mechanical problems that he has been having for 3-4 years!!!!

@ Technosquare

So...a customer brought AE86 for ECU tuning.

Our ECU tech installed ROM board, burned chip, and ran the car on the dyno.

We usually deal with newer Nissans like 350z, 370z, G35, G37 and such...and got used to see the number like 250hp+...of course, 200hp+ for drift cars, too...

AND...poor AE86 has 2-digit!!! Of course, my daily AE86 will be almost same or worse than that...but just funny that I got used to see the higher power cars.

Last Sat...

Me & Taka went to America's tire @ Torrance to have tire rotation service...

AND...almost all the streets were blocked. So it took us some time to get into their parking lot.

So...not too many customers...

Not too many cars on the street except military vehicles.

Keep going & going...

Airplane-ish thingy...I want to drive that!!

Of course, it took us some time x 2 to get out from it...

Was it some kinda festival??
