My laptop broken again...

I was trying to write the "behind the scene - Formula D Monterrey Mexico", but as I finished pasting all the pictures and as I was ready to upload the blog, the internet explorer took a crap. And when I was trying to re-start the computer, it does not start with "windows recovery error". WTF!

FD Monterrey, Mexico results . . . . . ouch !

Overall, it was a pretty rough weekend for
me and my Chaser. With only 260hp, it was
a tough task to make a consistent run at a
course that required some decent power.
Here, all the FD drift cars are getting ready
as the spectators starts to roll in.

I had to keep pushing harder and harder
to even make it through the course,
and the "zombie" Chaser had a little
conversation with the tough Mexican walls!

The lower control arm was bent to a 'custom' shape!
and Jun working hard to get the car back in shape...

It's fixed !!! . . . . well, kinda...
But I love the "oni-can" super negative camber !
It's old-school JDM !!

Congrats to Justin for taking the crown at this event !
and also to his pit crew Brian !!
Brian used to be my pit crew when I raced my Chaser
in Formula D in 2005~2006. I'm happy to see him
doing well with the new team !!!

The question is, should I fix my Chaser and keep
running with it ?
Or is it finally time to swap into a new body ?!?!

We are here in Monterrey now.
The forecast was isolated thunderstorm,
but we've escaped the rain once again in today's practice.
Here's some pictures of:

I hope I haven't forgotten anything. I had to inventory everything,

That was a headache . . . . .

See you in Mexico !!!

prepping for Formula D in Monterrey, Mexico !!!

It was a sudden decision to attend the Formula D exhibition
competition in Monterrey, Mexico.
With lots of help from Taka, we prepared my Toyota "Zombie" Chaser
at the Garage Boso in Gardena, CA.
Thank you very much Garage Boso for letting me use the lift !!
It made my life a lot easier to work on the Chaser.

Hope everything is ready to go and it should be a fun trip in Mexico !!

Seattle !

We're here in Seattle now for the 5th round of Formula D 2008 !
Since we got here pretty early, one of our crew member Jun took
us to a little tour of downtown Seattle since he lives here.

The very first Starbucks shop ! The inside looked a little different
from the usual Starbucks.
That's Ross Petty, the driverof the Falken 240SX !

And we went to the Public Market Center, like a Fisherman's
Wharf (I think). The Market was already closed, so I'd want to
come back when it's open !

Then we walked around including this little alley . . . .

And had a dinner at the China Town in a restaurant called
Purple Dot Cafe. The food was awesome !

Tomorrow is the practice. Can't wait to hit the huge bank at
the Evergreen Speedway !!

Formula D ProAM in Tucson, AZ

Last weekend, Taka and myself made a trip to Tucson, AZ
to judge a Formula Drift ProAm competition.
Taka drove his MX73 Toyota Cressida wagon equipped with
1JZ. It was a pretty long trip especially since we did not have
any sleep the day before from working on our Falken AE86
and Falken/Discount IS350 all night long.

It was a hot day in Tucson, but the event went very well.
The forecast was thunderstorm in the afternoon and at
night the lightning came all around us, but didn't drop a
single rain on the course. We were pretty lucky!
Congrats to everyone who got the invite to the Formula D
licensing competition held at the later in the year !!!
It was definitely cool to see a MX83 cressida rip it up for
the first place !

Thank you to all the Turn Style staff who helped us make
the event successful !! Great job everyone !

Awesome sunset view from the judges stand !

Taka testing the course with his blue cressida surfer wagon !

Dyno Time One More Time !! This time with Boost !

This time the Falken AE86 Turbo was put on the
dyno at MD Motorsports. Again, Nathan from Motec
came to fine tune their ecu.

The car sounds awesome !

Now both Hiro and Taka are ready for the Formula D
Seattle round next week !!!

Plum Wine

I can't drink alcohols...cuz most of them taste like crap for me, and I easily get drunk & get sick w/ really small amount.

Anyhow, I like the taste of plum wine even if I can only take small sip.

I got a small size of plum wine almost same size as a tea bag...and the half of the cup is more than enough for me to get drunk!!

hahaha I am so weak.

Yoshie

a long day & night . . . . .

After getting the Falken / Discount IS350 ready,
we had to cram hard to finish up the Falken AE86 Turbo.
So, I took some pictures of the IS350 in different times :
