my mx83 cressida... it's alive !

Ever since my mx83 Cressida blew up on a freeway
about 3 years ago, it has been sitting on my driveway
for . . . . . . . . . . forever...
(I actually had my cressida before Taka got his wagon)
And today is the day it finally came back to life !!!
Taka came over to my house again to help me finish up
the cressida and the driveway was amazing...
filled with JZ engine cars !!!

Formula D Sonoma video

It's a bit late, but since my laptop is fixed,
I've uploaded a video from Friday's practice.
I was doing a little better on Saturday,
but here it is !

the damn cursed laptop is back...

Finally !!! my laptop is back !
damn, that was a long repair.
and my warranty was expired, so i had to
pay for a new hard-drive. . . . . that sucked!

This is the old hard-drive that broke.
it was replaced just a month ago, but broke
only a few days after the 30day parts warranty. . . :(

well, it's now a NSD (Non-Slip-Differential)

We are now ready for Formula D Irwindale !!!

Just kidding !!
That diff is for another car that is in the makes.
It's almost done and ready to be a drift car !

Both Taka and myself use the OS Giken Super Lock LSD
on our Falken drift cars (^0^)/

Formula D Sonoma

Wow, it's been a while since I made the last post...
That's partly because my laptop is STILL in repair!
(didn't I say that in my last blog ?!?!)

Well, we just got back from the Formula D Sonoma.
It was another dramatic event . . . . . in a way.
I was having lots of issue from the Friday practice, but
got things sorted out to qualify. The great news was
that Taka qualified 1st on Friday !!!
However, both of us could not qualify onto the Top16
rounds on Saturday. Taka was running great all day
but missed the cut by one spot by qualifying 17th.
And I did have one of the fastest entry speed at 98mph,
but it wasn't good enough..... oh well.

So, what did we do when the day did not go the way
we planned ?
Drink some Beer !!!

brewery restaurant.

After the event was over, I spent a couple of days
with my brother who lives in downtown SF.
This is a JDM restaurant near Palo Alto.
The food was awesome !

It was a rather tiring weekend but I had lots
of fun !!!

behind the scenes Formula D Monterrey, MX

It's been a while, but my computer is STILL in repair...
but my old computer started to work and I found some
pics in my memory stick, so here's some stuff I wanted
to update a long time ago...

We had a group picture session at this Titanic place...
It was kinda random and strange, but cool.

One night, we had dinner at this retaurant.
I had a pork dish and it was really good.
And the salsa for the tortilla chips was super HOT !!!

This is a plaza at the "Old Town" in Monterrey.
There were lots of people and a live band was performing too !

This might be the happening of the event !
A huge tarantula was found at Henry's pit area.
Man, hope Judge Ernie is not thinking "Dinner !!"...

Cops of Monterrey. They couldn't speak any
English, but they were nice people.

Whenever we had to go little far, we took these
green taxis. It was crazy, but fun to travel with
such a big group !!

After staying up all night to meet at the hotel lobby
at 4:30AM for our super early flight back, we were
all dead tired at the airport terminal.
That's Tony sleeping in the middle with his helmet
and helmet cover on ! Good idea !!

Maybe.....

As you know my laptop is under repair. And it might need a re-format of the hard drive. Which means that all of my Mexico trip photos might be lost... That would be such a dissapointment, but I'll just have to see.....
I wonder if it's Vista related problem...
