Which begs me to ask the question. Why do they make parts look so nice, that are just going to be stuck inside the engine?

that's a good question. but i guess for people who likes to make things from scratch, they like to make them look as nice as possible. plus when they are on the shelf for people to see, it's always better to have a cooler looking pressure plate than a crappy boring one.
